Hi Students,

I am very excited about teaching you to be language architects. You will learn to write more effectively through taking this class. Every person deserves a voice in society; you will develop your own voice by writing papers, plays, memoirs, short stories, and character analyses. You will learn to persuade, describe, narrate, explain, and create, through your writing. Also, I have a passion for all types of literature, so we will read The Odyssey and other mythology, A Single Shard, Romeo and Juliet, short stories, and poetry. You will also polish grammar skills throughout the semester. This will be a very full, yet very rewarding, term. I look forward to working with each of you.

I am a stern teacher when it comes to discipline and learning. However, I also have a compassionate heart and really care about students. Please come to me if you ever need extra help on assignments or if you feel overwhelmed. I will do the best I can to stay in touch with you and your parents throughout the time I have you as my students.

I want to teach you to think autonomously and to interpret life for yourselves.

Sincerely,
Ms. Garrett
